3.1 million visitors from mainland China in 2025.

Singapore's largest source market, ahead of Indonesia's 2.4 million, according to the Singapore Tourism Board. Mainland Chinese passport holders have visited visa-free for up to 30 days since February 2024.

Who you can reach

Three Chinese-speaking audiences, one set of apps.

Chinese marketing in Singapore isn't only about tourists. Three audiences use the same apps, for different things, and each needs a different mix.

Local Chinese are the largest: 74.3% of Singapore residents are ethnically Chinese, and Chinese make up 22.1% of Malaysia's population (DOSM, 2026). Many grew up on English, but Mandarin is still the main home language for 29.9% of Singapore residents (Census 2020), and AFP reports RedNote is gaining traction with Chinese speakers in both countries.

Chinese residents, from expats and new citizens to students and families, run daily life on WeChat and RedNote. Visitors from mainland China, 3.1 million in 2025 (STB), plan on RedNote and Douyin and check Dianping once they arrive.

What we run

Four apps. Here's what we do on each.

Every account stays in your name. We set them up, write in Chinese, run the ads and measure the results.

  • WeChat

    微信 · Weixin

Messaging, payments and mini programs from Tencent.

    • A verified Official Account for your business
    • Articles, menus and offers in Chinese
    • Ads in Moments and articles
    • Weixin Pay at your counter

1,439 million monthly users of Weixin and WeChat (Tencent, Q2 2026).
Businesses outside mainland China can open a verified Service Account; ads run through Tencent-authorised agencies.

  • RedNote

    小红书 · Xiaohongshu

China's recommendation app for food, beauty, travel and shopping, and increasingly used by Chinese speakers in Singapore and Malaysia.

    • A brand profile
    • Notes with Chinese-speaking creators
    • Ads in search and the feed
    • Tracking what's said about you

About 350 million monthly users (Qiangua, reported by AFP, July 2026).
Ads through RedNote's official advertising partners.

  • Dianping

    大众点评

Meituan's reviews and ratings app, checked before choosing where to eat, shop or book.

    • Your listing in Chinese
    • Photos, menu and prices
    • Replies to reviews
    • Offers for visitors

Listings in more than 3,000 cities worldwide.
    Through Dianping's local agents.

  • Douyin

    抖音

China's version of TikTok, from ByteDance: short video and livestreams.

    • A business account, through a partner
    • Video of your hotel, shop or venue
    • Travel creators
    • Ads in the feed

Account verification needs Chinese ID, so it reaches people in mainland China.
Ads through agencies of Ocean Engine, ByteDance's ad platform.

The problem

Why Chinese-speaking customers miss you.

Three gaps we find in most Singapore businesses.

We only show up on Google, which is blocked in mainland China.

Presence on RedNote, WeChat, Dianping and Douyin, where visitors plan.

Our posts are machine-translated, or only in English.

Content written by native Chinese speakers, for each audience.

We can't tell which sales came from Chinese-speaking customers.

Offer codes, WeChat and RedNote links, and Weixin Pay or Alipay+ tracked per campaign.

What's included

What we run for Chinese-speaking audiences.

Presence, content and ads on the apps they use, with sales counted.

  • WeChat Official Account. A verified Service Account for businesses outside mainland China.
  • RedNote. A brand profile, creator notes and ads.
  • Dianping. Your listing, photos, menu and replies to reviews.
  • Douyin. Video and travel creators, run through a verified partner.
  • Native Chinese content. Written, not translated, in simplified characters.
  • Measurement. Offer codes, links and payments counted per campaign.
How it works

How we start.

First what's already said about you, then the ads.

  1. Listen

What Chinese-speaking customers already say and search about your category.

  2. Show up

Listings, accounts and content in Chinese.

  3. Advertise and count

Ads with an offer and a code, counted in visits and sales.

Every month, budget moves to the app and the offer that brought customers.

Before you spend

What separates Chinese marketing that sells from posts no one saves.

Ask for these, whoever runs it.

Good signs

  • Content written by native speakers, in simplified characters for mainland audiences
  • One offer code or link per app, so sales are counted
  • Prices, hours and address that match on every app and on Google
  • Weixin Pay or Alipay+ at your counter for visitors
  • Accounts verified in your company's name

Walk away if they

  • Machine-translate your English posts
  • Buy followers, saves or reviews
  • Promise Douyin without a partner who can verify the account
  • Report likes and views but no visits or sales
  • Run your accounts under their own name

What we check first.

Where Chinese-speaking customers drop off: missing listings, English-only pages and sales no one can attribute. We check it live on your strategy call.

Tracking

  • Conversions firing, pixel and CAPI de-duplicated
  • Event match quality
  • CRM outcomes sent back to the platforms
  • Click IDs and UTMs captured

Creative

  • Distinct angles live
  • Hook and thumb-stop rates
  • Fatigue and frequency

FAQ

Chinese Marketing: questions, answered.

Anything else, ask us on the call or on WhatsApp.

What is RedNote?

RedNote, or Xiaohongshu, is a Chinese recommendation app for food, beauty, travel and shopping. Data firm Qiangua puts it at about 350 million monthly users, and AFP reported in July 2026 that it is gaining traction with Chinese speakers in Malaysia and Singapore. The Singapore Tourism Board signed an agreement with Xiaohongshu in May 2026.

Can a Singapore business open a WeChat Official Account?

Yes. Tencent lets businesses outside mainland China register a Service Account, which works once it passes Weixin Verification. Ads in WeChat are bought through Tencent-authorised agencies.

Should we advertise to Chinese Singaporeans in Chinese or English?

Usually both. In the 2020 Census, 29.9% of Singapore residents spoke Mandarin most often at home and 48.3% English. Chinese content on RedNote reaches the Mandarin-first audience, including residents and visitors from China; English ads on Meta and Google still reach most local Chinese.

Can we advertise on Douyin from Singapore?

Not directly. Verifying a Douyin account needs a Chinese ID card or permit, so we run Douyin through partners and agencies of Ocean Engine, ByteDance's ad platform. It reaches people in mainland China, which suits businesses that want visitors to find them before they travel.

Who is this for?

Singapore businesses whose customers include Chinese speakers: hotels, restaurants, retail, clinics, schools, property and financial services, and brands selling to Chinese-speaking buyers in Singapore and Malaysia.

How do you measure results?

With offer codes, tracked WeChat and RedNote links, and Weixin Pay or Alipay+ payments counted per campaign, so each app is judged on visits and sales, not likes.
